Sorry I've not been around. My last year in college was INTENSE. I did not have time to write or draw for five months straight and it was driving me crazy, so pretty much the second I got home, I started just creating ALL THE THINGS.
What started the neverending wave of creativity was joining an RP group of Marvel fans. It started out as just a fun, cracky thing. Originally I was gonna be Loki, but Loki was taken so I decided to be Captain America instead. And. Well. That opened the floodgates of creativity. There are so many scenes from the RP that I've sketched/colored, or things they've asked me to draw, or inspired me to draw. I'm friends with all of them and they are all AWESOME and there are so many inside jokes. We can't get enough of each other, the whole group. It's amazing.
Another thing that resulted from this RP group was my introduction to Steve/Bucky. I didn't really see it at first but *insert Rafiki .gif "Look Harder"* I see it now and I ship it roughly 1000 times harder than I thought I would. I've opened an account on AO3
archiveofourown.org/users/pure… and have been writing Stucky fics. I think of roughly 2-3 ideas for fan-fiction every friggin' day, so the ones I end up writing are the ones I keep coming back to.
Other News: I go by Steve now, whenever I can. This is partially because of my RP group as well, because we were all calling each other by our character names before we knew/remembered everyone's real names. I found myself calling them by their character names long after I knew their real names, though, because being called Steve just felt so right. It's gotten to the point where calling myself/ being called Katrina is weird for me and feels like being stabbed with a cold, dull knife. The name Steve just fits me so well, and I'm very happy with it. Introducing myself as Steve just feels so natural. I'm not out everywhere, but wherever I am 'out', I've asked people to please call me Steve. I'm fairly certain I've told y'all that I don't identify as female, but if you didn't know, now you do: I'm somewhat gender fluid and alternate between male and masculine androgynous, with the rare somewhat-femme day every few months or so, but usually I'm a dude. (Now you know!)
Also: I have a job!!
I work at a college bookstore. Always wanted to work at a bookstore. Sadly, I am only a temp, but I'm really loving it so far. This job could not be more perfect for me (well- unless it was half an hour closer and they didn't have me open at 7:45 a.m. some days, but hey).
And I graduated!!! I officially have a bachelor's degree in Creative Writing. (So what do I do with that? work/apply for odd jobs and write copious amounts of Marvel fan-fiction.)(SHHHH it's my life!
)
No promises about being on here more often, but you might see the occasional art from me. Hope you all are doing well!
